A GROOM OR A THIEF? | Part TWO

Revelation 3:3 “… but if you don’t wake up, I will come as a thief, and you will not know what time I will come to you.”

The most commonly used metaphor to depict the second coming of Jesus Christ is “ as a thief ”. we all have heard this on sermons, Bible studies, or even preachers from down the street. The Bible tells us that no one knows when the return of Christ will be not even angles, not eve the son; only the Father knows the hour. It will be like the time of Noah, people will be minding their own business, eating and drinking, getting married and “enjoying” themselves. People will be so busy chasing their own pleasure and their desire that they will forget about God, they will not mind doing things their own way even if it doesn’t please God. They will be so distracted to know that the second coming of Jesus is at hand. And just like a thief comes at a time which is least expected, so will the second coming of Christ be.

Our generation today is consumed in so many things that serve as a distraction. Some are chasing after success. Those who want to reach the peak of “success” according to the standard of the world are not few. Money, fame, wisdom, luxurious life and the list goes on. But little do they know that the things they chase will give them satisfaction. Instead they will crave for it more... wanting that small taste of happiness they thought they got. Chasing the things of this world is like chasing the wind.
